MEET LAUREN

Hi, I'm Lauren — founder of Bloom Studio Pilates, certified Level 3 Body Control Pilates Instructor, Advanced Pregnancy Wellness, Movement and Early Motherhood Practitioner and mum of three.

My journey back to Pilates began after the birth of my children and a gym injury left me grappling with a weak core and persistent lower back pain. Living far from family, I lacked the immediate support network many new mums rely on. This experience underscored the profound need for a nurturing community — a space where women could reconnect with their bodies and find strength, both physically and emotionally.

Pilates became my sanctuary. It not only helped me rebuild my physical strength but also provided the mental resilience to navigate motherhood and manage the challenges of hypothyroidism, which I've lived with for over 20 years. The transformation was so impactful that I transitioned from my career as a secondary school teacher to become a Pilates instructor, aiming to share this empowering practice with others.

At Bloom Studio Pilates, we offer more than just classes; we provide a supportive environment tailored to women at every stage — from pregnancy and postpartum to perimenopause and beyond.

 

Our offerings include:

Prenatal Pilates: Gentle, restorative sessions focusing on alignment, breathing, and core engagement to prepare your body for birth.

Mum & Baby Pilates: Designed for mothers from 8 weeks postpartum, these classes help restore pelvic floor function, improve posture, and rebuild strength — with your baby welcome to join.

All Levels Mat Pilates: Dynamic classes that enhance strength, mobility, and flexibility, suitable for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

Healing Ground: A specialist online class for women recovering from birth trauma, miscarriage and stillbirth where we focus on helping you to regain connection to your body,  moving at your own pace from the comfort of home.  This class offers supportive guidance on calming your nervous system and beginning healing - physically and emotionally. 

Classes are available both in-person in the Kew, Richmond, and Barnes areas, and online, providing flexibility to fit your schedule. We also offer private sessions, including home visits, to cater to individual needs.

Bloom is more than a studio; it's a community where women come together to move with intention, share experiences, and support one another. Whether you're navigating the early days of motherhood, adjusting to hormonal changes, or simply seeking a space to focus on yourself, Bloom is here to support you.
